WHO RECEIVES ASSISTANCE?

Low income, socially vulnerable homeowners recovering from Hurricane Harvey with priority to the elderly, single head of household with minor children, disabled, honorably discharged US Veterans.

WHAT ARE THE POLICIES & PROCESSES FOLLOWED TO DETERMINE WHO GETS ASSISTANCE?

Disaster case management services are available to Hurricane Harvey affected households. Case managers help residents develop a long-term recovery plan and connect with available resources.

HOW ARE FUNDS BEING TRACKED?

CBDRG has received funding through grants, and corporate and private donations. CBDRG strives for transparency. Donations are managed by the Coastal Bend Community Foundation. We honor donor stipulations by carefully monitoring expenses of every project by client case. We use a system of checks and balances through best accounting practices, including audit and good controls of fund allocation and spending.

WHERE ARE THE FUNDS BEING UTILIZED?

Funds are supporting disaster case management and home reconstruction projects across the six federally declared disaster counties.

WHY DOES IT TAKE SO LONG?

The need is so great. To ensure the generous donations reach those that need it the most, CBDRG is following best practices established by the National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (NVOAD), which guides agencies in planning, coordination and response of all facets of disaster recovery including case management, donations, training, home reconstruction, volunteers, communications, etc.
